Sparkle-“E” on the scene…at the 2017 Independent Spirit Awards!!!!

The 2017 Independent Spirit awards ceremony took place on Saturday, February 25, 2017…and was hosted by Nick Kroll and John Mulaney…

The hosts had excellent chemistry… and kept the show rolling… “merrily along!” They were hilarious!

John  Mulaney

Nick Kroll

The pair has EXCELLENT comedic timing… and we’re perfect for the task!

The 2017 spirit awards had MEGA star power present… with just as many “A” list celebrities as the Oscars!!!

During this star ⭐️ studded event… celebrities & VIP’s don’t stroll down a RED carpet… at the Spirit Awards…it’s a BLUE One!

It’s as BLUE as the seas surrounding the gigantic tent set up next to the Santa Monica Pier!

The spirit awards has a reputation for being the most FUN awards show. A show where people can kick back on Santa Monica beach… and just have FUN!!! There is lots of great gourmet food… cool VIP tent areas… and the drinks are flowing ALL.DAY.LONG!!!

There are always funny sketches… and unforgettable speeches…

While accepting her award for “Best Supporting Female actress…” Molly Shannon demonstrated TRUE SPIRIT 🎉saying; “I really truly in this moment feel like a superstar!”⭐️  It was a great homage to her character on Saturday Night Live… who was 50… 50 years old! She could still kick! and split!!! -LOL!-

As expected… there were lots of political comments throughout the show… Casey Affleck hit the topic of national politics… and spoke out against the “new” leadership in place.

During his acceptance speech… Affleck said: “The policies of this administration are abhorrent and will not last.”

There were serious moments… and other eye catching scenarios…

Hosts Nick Kroll and John Mulaney announced instead of doing the traditional “In Memoriam” segment during the show…they would change things up a bit…

And so… during the ceremony, they introduced the “Non Memoriam” performance, which featured a series of celebrities who are “still with us,” along with Andy Samberg and his “bad Eddie Vedder impression.”

As Samberg sang Pearl Jam’s “Alive,” the camera cut to celebrities, noting that they were indeed still alive during the ceremony, including Craig Robinson and “Mattie D-Bones” (Matt Damon)…

But…here’s the kicker… when they cut to Fred Armisen… he faked a death scene…while the camera was on him.

Samberg stopped singing… and with a voice of all sweet accord responded to the fake death saying: “Oh no, just now? He was a close friend of mine …”)

And then… hosts Kroll and Mulaney went down to Armisens  seat…put sunglasses on him and carried him away… –Weekend at Bernie’s style. —

Here’s the location of the Independent Spirit Awards… near the Santa Monica Pier…

And wow! There she goes again! 👠 Sparkle “E” (Evette Dabney) is “on the scene!)

The Spirit Awards are voted on by members of Film Independent and require that the films be produced in the U.S. for less than $20 million
